Der Aufsatz gibt ein originäres Heilpflanzenporträt von Arnica montana nach anthroposophisch-goetheanistischer Betrachtungsweise. Der Schilderung botanischer Besonderheiten der Art sowie der grundsätzlichen Betrachtung von Standortfragen folgen ausführliche Gestaltbilder ihrer Einzelorgane. Dabei wird zugleich das Wesen der Blütengestalt von Korbblütlern angeschaut. Es entsteht ein Bild des Gesamthabitus der Arnika,das mehr ist als die Summe seiner Einzelteile und den Pflanzenprozess „Arnika" greifbar macht, so dass seine Wirkung auf die Gestaltungsvorgänge des menschlichen Leibes abgelesen werden kann. Zugleich ist dies ein Weg zu grundsätzlichen Darstellungen Rudolf Steiners über die Arnika. Ein abschließendes Kapitel betrachtet Anregungen aus anderer Literatur.
The essay portrays the medicinal plant Arnica montana from an anthroposophical and Goethean point of view. A detailed botanical description of the species and reflections on the different biotopes are followed by a detailed look at the configuration of individual organs.This also covers a study of the essential nature of floral forms among the Compositae. It is thus possible to gain a picture of the whole habit of Arnica,which is more than the sum of its parts, making the"Arnica process" tangible in a way that allows us to "read" its actions on configuring processes in the human body. Fundamental statements on Arnica made by Rudolf Steiner and other authors are considered in the finalart.
