Verträglichkeit natürlicher ätherischer Öle bei ausgewiesenen Duftstoff-Mix-Allergikern

Allergien auf Duft- und Konservierungsstoffe gelten als die häufigste Ursache für Kontaktekzeme durch Kosmetika. Als diagnostischerTest bei Duftstoff-Allergie dient der Duftstoff-Mix. Positiv getesteten Patienten wird empfohlen, Kosmetika und Arzneimittel mit Duftstoffen strikt zu meiden. Die Praxis zeigt jedoch häufig, dass Duftstoff-Mix-Allergiker Präparate mit natürlichen ätherischen Ölen gut vertragen. Ziel dieser Untersuchung war, die Hautverträglichkeit von echten ätherischen Ölen bei Patienten mit einer bestehenden Kontaktallergie gegen Duftstoff-Mix quantitativ zu erfassen. Es wurden 20 ätherisch Öl-Mischungen (äö) von Dr. Hauschka Präparaten im geschlossenen Epikutantest an 25 Duftstoff-Mix-Allergikern geprüft. Jede Probe enthielt Anteile des Duftstoff-Mixes im natürlichen Kontext der ätherischen Öle. Ergebnisse: 1. Es gab keine irritativen Reaktionen. 2. Kontaktallergische Reaktionen traten ausschließlich in der 5 %igen Konzentration auf. In der 0,5 %igen Konzentration reagierte kein Proband allergisch. 3. Jede äÖ-Mischung wurde von mindestens 22 Probanden vertragen. 4.10 der äÖ- Mischungen erwiesen sich als besonders hautverträglich und lösten keinerlei Reaktionen aus. 10 äÖ-Mischungen verursachten bei 7 Probanden insgesamt 17 Reaktionen. 5. Bei 17 von insgesamt 500 Einzeltests entspricht das 3,4 %. Schlussfolgerung: Die Probanden zeigten einen signifikanten Unterschied in der Reaktion auf Duftstoff-Mix und die in der Dr.Hauschka Kosmetik enthaltenen natürlichen ätherischen Öle. Duftstoff-Mix-Allergiker müssen Präparate mit ätherischen Ölen nicht zwingend meiden, sondern können Kosmetika und Arzneimittel mit individuell verträglichen ätherischen Ölen finden. Die künftige differenzierte Deklarationspflicht von 26 Duftkomponenten darf nicht zur Verunsicherung von nicht oder nur oberflächlich getesteten Verbrauchern bzw. Patienten missbraucht werden.
Allergies to perfumes and preservatives are seen as the most common cause for contact eczema caused by cosmetic products. A fragrance mix is used as the diagnostic test for allergies to fragrances. Patients who react positively are generally recommended to carefully avoid cosmetic and pharmaceutical products with fragrances. In practice those with allergies to fragrance mix will show a high tolerance for products containing natural essential oils. The aim of this study was to quantitatively record the skin tolerance of true essential oils in patients with a documented existing contact allergy to fragrance mix. 20 essential oil (EO) mixtures from Dr. Hauschka products were tested in closed epicutaneous tests on 25 persons allergic to fragrance mix. Each test sample contained fractions of the fragrance mix in the full natural context of the essential oil. Results: 1. No occurrence of skin irritation. 2. Contact allergic reactions only occurred in the 5% concentration. No experimentee displayed allergic reactions to the 0,5% concentration. 3. Each EO-mixture was tolerated by at least 22 persons. 4.10 of the EO-mixtures were shown to be particularly well tolerated on the skin and did not cause any reactions. 10 EO-mixtures caused a total of 17 reactions in 7 experimentees. 5. This corresponds to 3.4% based on 17 from a total of 500 individual tests. ConclusiomThe experimentees displayed a significant difference between their tolerance to the fragrance mix and the natural essential oils contained in Dr. Hauschka products. Persons with allergies to fragrance mix need not therefore necessarily avoid products with essential oils, but may find cosmetics and pharamceuticals with essential oils that are tolerated according to the individual.The coming legal obligation to make a differentiated declaration of 26 fragrant components must not be used to cause uncertainty among customers or patients who have only been examined superficially.
