Tinea pedis ist eine weit verbreitete Pilzinfektion des Fußes, die meist mit konventionellen Antimykotika behandelt wird. Historische Berichte und aktuelle ärztliche Erfahrungen deuten darauf hin, dass auch Kupferverbindungen fungizid wirken können. Die Wirksamkeit von Kupfer-i-Oxyd gegen den Dermatophyten Trichophyton rubrum und den Hefepilz Candida albicans wurde in Form eines in vitro-Versuches überprüft und bestätigt.
