Prävention wird heute weitgehend als überindividuelle Vermeidungsstrategie praktiziert. Demgegenüber wird theoretisch bereits die Rolle des Einzelnen gestärkt, ohne praktisch umsetzbare Handlungsebenen aufzuzeigen. In der vorliegenden Arbeit wird zunächst an ausgewählten Beispielen der Geschichte das Verständnis von und der Umgang mit Gesundheit aufgezeigt: in der Antike geht es um ein Gleichgewicht der Säfte, im europäischen Mittelalter um eine Einbindung in die christliche Heilslehre. In der„romantischen Medizin" entsteht die Idee der Lebenskunst. Im zweiten Teil der Arbeit werden Aspekte zur Prävention in der anthroposophisch-orientierten Denkrichtung erstmals zusammengefasst: Wesentlich für den positiven Ansatz sind dabei 1. das Erfassen der individuellen Disposition, 2. die verstärkte Wahrnehmung des Gefühlslebens und 3-der Blick auf die Gesamtbiografie.
Prevention today is widely practiced as an over-individual strategy of avoidance. The roleofthe individual is, however, more and more accepted in theory, without sufficiently pointing out practical areas of implementations. In this article examples of an understanding and handling of well-being are chosen from medical history: in antique medicine we find the equilibration of body fluids; during the European middle ages medicine is incorporated into Christian belief; in "romantic medicine" the idea of an art of living is created.The second part of the article summerises aspects of prevention in anthroposophical thought for the first time. Essential to the positive approach here is firstly the acknowledgement of the individual disposal, secondly the importance of the emotional life and thirdly the view onto the entire biography.
