TY - JOUR T1 - The role of external applications in modern medicine AU - van Dam, Joop PY - 2007 N2 - External applications, known through the ages, were given an important role in medicine again by Rudolf Steiner. Looking to see which levels of human existence were given special attention in the course of history, we find that for today it is the l-organization. With external applications, the l-organization is addressed via sensory stimuli in the skin. The organism responds to sensory perceptions by imitating them. The treatment proves fruitful if it does not go it alone but is integrated into other forms of anthroposophical medical treatment.
