The anthroposophical aspects of a study (2nd part) concerning anthroposophical therapeutic speech (ATS).The human rhythmical system is essentially evident in the interaction of rhythms rather than in physical organs. This interplay focuses on pulse and breathing function. Music and poetry originate from physio-psychological interplay of these rhythms. The hexameter dates back to the Apollonian mysteries and is a distinct example. Recordings made of changes in breathing and heart rate during therapeutic hexameter recitation showed a high degree of cardiorespiratory synchronization which was comparable to synchronization in non-REM sleep. The rhythmical system indicated deep relaxation in the waking state, promoting the integration of past and future, of neural and circulatory processes. This was attained by specific respiratory modulation of heart action with ATS.
