Anthroposophical nursing is of great value in complementing and extending the care provided for oncology patients. The most important additions to established care are external applications such as packs and compresses and rhythmical einreibungen (rubs) according to Wegman and Hauschka, anthroposophical medicines, the way in which the nursing takes its orientation from the anthroposophical image of the human being, and the inner attitude of the individual nurse. A core concern is to give warmth to the body. End-of-life care can be highly differentiated and meet individual needs in anthroposophical nursing. A new instrument, which may also be used for assessment, is the model of the twelve nursing gestures based on the work of Rolf Heine. A simple table shows the nursing potential in the care of cancer patients at all stages of the disease.
