Der Diabetes mell.Typ 2 ist eine Skleroseerkrankung und selbst bei aggressiver Therapie mit einer verkürzten Lebenserwartung verbunden. Anhand einer Fülle von Beobachtungen wird gezeigt, dass die Erkrankung keinesfalls eine alleinige Störung der Blutzuckerregulation ist, sondern alle Ebenen des Menschen betrifft. Es wird ein anthroposophisch erweitertes Krankheitskonzept entwickelt, aus dem sich unmittelbar integrative Ansätze für eine über die normwertnahe Einstellung von Risikofaktoren hinausgehende, salutogenetisch orientierte Therapie ergeben. Diese umfasst neben einer medikamentösen Therapie in 0. g. Sinne auch diätetische Gesichtspunkte, eine umfassende Berücksichtigung der seelischen Seite der Erkrankung und den Entwicklungsaspekt von Erkrankungen. Damit wird der Patient aktiv in den Gesundungsprozess eingebunden, womit er im Umgang mit der Erkrankung zu neuen Entwicklungsschritten kommen kann. Dieser Entwicklungsaspekt ist bei einer Betrachtung über die aktuelle Lebensspanne hinaus bis in das hohe Alter von Bedeutung.
Type 2 diabetes is a form of sclerosis and means a reduction in life expectancy even if aggressive treatment is given. Numerous observations serve to show that the condition is not limited to blood sugar regulation but affects all levels of human life. An anthroposophically extended concept for the disease is developed, with approaches to therapy with salutogenic orientation arising directly from it that goes beyond reducing risk factors to close to normal. Apartfrom medical treatment in terms of the above it also includes dietary aspects, comprehensive account taken of the psychic side, and the aspect of the genesis and evolution of diseases. The patient becomes an active partner in the salutogenic process, and may take new steps in personal development in dealing with the diseases.This last aspect is important beyond the present life span and into ripe old age.
