Painting therapy reduces symptoms in essential tremor 
A recent single-case study shows the effectiveness of anthroposophic painting therapy in reducing symptoms of essential tremor (ET). ET is a common movement disorder in the elderly, usually effecting the hands and forearms. A 78-year-old woman presented with ET, depression, and bipolar symptoms that were being treated with medication. She refused propanolol for the ET. Over the course of 5 months, she received 16 sessions of painting therapy. Thereafter, the patient reported improved quality of life (including emotional aspects) and a decrease in her ET, which was reflecting in her handwriting. The single-case study is published open access and peer-reviewed in "The Permanente Journal":
